ASUS U31SD-AH51 13.3-Inch Thin and Light Laptop (Black)

Got this on lightning deal and with $75 gift card offer (total under $600)... which had a significant impact on my purchase. Had planned on purchasing the U36SD until this deal came up. U36 is a better built machine and has USB 3.0 but otherwise nearly identical. At regular price there is only a $50 difference, but on sale that jumped to nearly $250. Based on this, I took the plunge and went with this machine... and I am very happy I did.

Up front... CONs: Compared to the new ultrabooks, the build quality and design are 'so-so', but at this price point I think it is pretty solid. Definitely no 'head turner' and the body feels solid but 'cheap'. I concur with earlier review that USB ports are 'tight' and, while it looks great, the black aluminum cover definitely attracts fingerprints. Stock hard drive seems a bit slow.

PROs: Battery life... in excess of 8 hrs in real use... amazing. Monitor... 'standard' but viewing angles are extremely good and much better than other laptops I have. CPU/GPU... both awesome at this price, Core i5 is extremely fast and the optimus run NVidia 520 is great for moderate gaming and video. Basically identical 'guts' as much more expensive laptops in a cheaper body. Weight/size, under 1" thick and under 3 lbs... mixed with battery life and it is an awesome 'traveling' laptop. ADW: pain to sign up for (which upsets many folks) but getting a 1 year accidental damage warranty as part of the base price is awesome and a huge plus for going with an Asus machine... drop it on the way to class... get a replacement!

My 4th Asus laptop and I am continually amazed by the bang for the buck from their machines... and the U31SD is no exception. It won't turn heads like the MacBook or ZenBook... but you can buy two of these for the same price as the ultrabook... and it has the same performance with better battery life... save the money and buy yourself an ipad... win-win.

Caution against Scammer on Social Networks

Cyber crime in the form of scam, a type of fraud using the internet, more and more flourishing.
Earlier this year, Symantec Security Response has observed that scammers in droves visited social networking sites as its popularity increases.
Therefore, users are expected to be more careful when clicking on the URL without finding out first using a preview or a plug-in.
Users should also never give confidential personal or financial information unless and until it is certain that the request for information is legitimate. Some of the tactics commonly used by scammers as follows:

A. Provide a direct link to affiliate sites
A few days before and after the announcement of the new iPad third generation, the user who tweeted about the new tablet will receive a reply Twitter kemungkinnan directed from scammers who offer new tools for free.
Many of these links actually redirect to the affiliate page that asks for personal information, such as email address and shipping information.
Some scammers also started to send video to the YouTube user guide that guides the user step-by-step process to get their free iPad or iPhone. The scammer then uses the description of the video to redirect to the affiliate page and then trick users into providing their personal information.

B. Creating a fake user account promotion
Unlike the previous example, where Twitter users to post about a particular brand and receive replies directed to a link in it, the user is now directed to a particular brand of fake Twitter accounts.

If you are a user of Twitter and receive replies from your Twitter account is not known which promises you something for free, protect yourself and others by reporting the account to Twitter.(source;

Bezt Deal! Apple MacBook Pro MD322LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop (NEWEST VERSION)

Apple MacBook Pro MD322LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop (NEWEST VERSION)

Before you make a decision to buy Apple MacBook Pro MD322LL/A 15.4-Inch Lapto (newest version), let me guide you why you must buy this laptop.
Let me start with the good:
So awesome. Great OS, fabulous improvements to the existing line bumping up the processor speed and adding the thunderbolt port. This is my second MacBook. The first one I had was a 2006 model, not the Pro. I fell in love with it. This one has had the same effect. I had upgraded my old MacBook to Lion, so I kind of knew what I was getting, but hadn't been able to enjoy some of the awesome new multi-touch features. The improvements to the OS have been relatively gradual, but substantive. The feel of this machine compared to the old MacBook is far superior. The Unibody construction is solid, sleek and beautiful. It is everything I'd hoped it would be from a look and feel standpoint, but somehow a bit more sturdy.
It is fear, isn't? If I also give the negative of Apple MacBook Pro MD322LL/A 15.4-Inch Laptop (newest version). Ok, lets me to start the negative as a comparison . In Apple MacBook Pro MD322LL/A 15.4-Inch Lapto (newest version), I got the stock screen - which is VERY glossy. I mean ... REALLY glossy. It's still beautiful and has better color reproduction than I could ever expect from a notebook. The reflectiveness of the display is only a minor inconvenience if you work in a controlled-lighting environment like me (I prefer it dark) or if you can crank up the brightness.

Now, you know much the good and the bad of Apple MacBook Pro MD322LL/A 15.4Inch Laptop (new version). The decision is back to your hand. But, I recommend you to buy it, because After I bought this laptop I didn't find major trouble in it. Or if you have your own review about you can share your comment in this blog.

Top Deal!!! HP Pavilion dm1-4142nr Entertainment PC 11.6-Inch Laptop (Charcoal)

Top Deals!!!!! HP Pavilion dm1-4142nr Entertainment PC 11.6-Inch Laptop (Charcoal)

I got a great price on this during one of Amazon's daily Lightning Deals, and this little
notebook PC offers a lot for the money. HP Pavilion is the answer my question recently. The first thing I did was pull out the 500GB hard drive and replace it with a 60GB OCZ Agility 3 SSD drive:
I did a fresh load of Windows 7, and after loading all the device drivers and Windows
Updates, about 20GB of drive space was used. I have some likes why I bought this notebook, they are :

+Radeon HD 6320 graphics makes this suitable for light gaming, and HD video apps
+long battery life
+low cost battery replacement, only 69 dollars direct from HP (HP MT06 battery, 55 Watt-Hr, part# 646757-001)
+easy access to internals. The entire bottom panel slides off when the battery release latch is in the proper position
+touchpad with On/Off button. Double-tap the upper-left corner of touchpad to toggle it on or off.

This review I wrote according to my experience after used HP Pavilion dm1-4142nr Entertainment PC. And I got satisfying because it is supported me as a student. Click To See Price and Product Details
